About Marfa Film Shop
Marfa Film Shop opened October 2021 and is privately owned by Sara Button. Her goal is to offer film and film processing to the West Texas community and to anyone traveling through. With community in mind, the film shop chooses not to ship any film or cameras but to instead keep those items available in shop for local customers and travelers alike.
Sara has shot film for as long as she can remember. In the 90’s while in middle school, she went to Washington DC and can remember frantically changing a roll of film in the Smithsonian Museum while her classmates went from exhibition to exhibition. She shot 35mm film from that time through high school where she was asked to be the only underclassman to work on the yearbook (AKA analog photography and darkroom time!) for all four years of her time in high school. That is where she fell in love with the darkroom.
Marfa Film Shop hopes to offer as much community interaction as possible. We believe in building strong bonds and relationships through our community.
